Cycling Through History and Nature
Guided e-bike tour through historic villages and unspoiled nature, riding along Lake Barrea in the heart of the National Park.
Welcome to the evocative Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park, where natural beauty blends harmoniously with the ancient history of villages seemingly frozen in time. This e-bike tour around Lake Barrea will take us through unique landscapes, breathtaking views and charming villages such as Barrea, Civitella Alfedena and Villetta Barrea, which still preserve the authentic character of Apennine medieval towns.
PROGRAM

Meeting point at 9:00 a.m. at our office in Corso Duca degli Abruzzi 16, Barrea (AQ). Brief briefing on the itinerary and instructions on how to use the e-bikes.

1. Discovering Barrea
We begin our e-bike journey through the medieval village of Barrea. Its narrow stone-paved streets and ancient buildings tell centuries-old stories. After soaking in the unique atmosphere of the village, we head toward Lake Barrea.

2. Down to Lake Barrea
We descend toward the shores of Lake Barrea, where the calm beauty of the water meets the surrounding forests. We follow an unpaved road winding through typical vegetation, enjoying stunning views of the lake and the main peaks of the National Park.

3. Through Villetta Barrea
We pass through the historic center of Villetta Barrea, another remarkable example of local history and culture. After crossing the bridge over the Sangro River, we enjoy the charm of this place before continuing our journey.

4. Climbing to Civitella Alfedena
We head toward Civitella Alfedena, where a short stop at the wolf wildlife area allows us to appreciate the local environment and enjoy beautiful views over the valley below. Here we also take a relaxing break.

5. Return to Barrea
We descend once again toward the shores of Lake Barrea, following another unpaved route through forests and scenic viewpoints. We also ride along a stretch of an ancient transhumance trail, bearing witness to the history of the people who once inhabited this valley. Along the way, we stop at several lakeside viewpoints to admire the landscape.

Around lunchtime we return to Barrea, concluding this unforgettable e-bike experience, taking home memories of a day full of adventure and discovery.
