Wildlife watching dedicated to the world’s most beautiful chamois
A nature hike along ridges and high-altitude pastures to discover the Apennine chamois and mountain landscapes.
The excursion dedicated to the Apennine chamois is an active nature experience, designed for those who wish to closely observe one of the most elegant and symbolic species of the mountain environments of the central Apennines. In the heart of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park, among steep slopes, high-altitude pastures and panoramic ridgelines, you will walk through landscapes shaped by time and by the presence of wildlife. Accompanied by local guides, you will observe the territory with a more attentive eye, learning to recognize habitats, behaviors and adaptation strategies of the chamois to Apennine environments, always with full respect for the animal and its natural context.
PROGRAM

The activity begins with a meeting with the guide and an introductory briefing focused on the environmental context, rules of conduct and the main characteristics of the Apennine chamois.
This is followed by a hike along mountain trails crossing forests, high-altitude grasslands, rocky slopes and wide natural balconies overlooking the Park’s valleys. During the walk, the guide helps the group read the landscape, explaining the chamois’ ecological dynamics, seasonal habits and the relationship between terrain morphology and the presence of the species.
Observation stops are made at selected panoramic points, prioritizing distance observation and silence. With the aid of professional binoculars, it is possible to spot groups of chamois moving along slopes and ridges without interfering with their natural behavior.
The return follows the same mindful and respectful approach, with a final moment dedicated to discussion, questions and sharing the experience. Each outing is different and depends on environmental and seasonal conditions and wildlife presence.

(The program may vary according to the season and environmental conditions.)
